Denise O’Donnell has fought for justice her entire life – and now she is ready to fight for every New Yorker As a professional prosecutor. As the only career prosecutor in the Democratic primary, Denise O’Donnell will make sure that we continue the Elliot Spitzer tradition of strong, professional and non-political leadership in the Attorney General’s office.

As a professional prosecutor, O’Donnell will lead the fight for justice, fighting corporate corruption and protecting New York's consumers. She will take on corrupt politicians. She will punish corporate wrongdoing while protecting our environment and reproductive freedom. She will fight discrimination, bigotry and hate crimes. And she will take criminals off our streets and put them behind bars. O’Donnell will fight to protect every family and promote the highest standards of ethics in business and government.

Restoring Confidence in Government
As a professional prosecutor, Denise O'Donnell will have zero tolerance for corrupt public officials and for those who commit fraud against Medicaid and other government programs.

Denise has a long record of prosecuting public corruption, and will use that experience to expand the Attorney General's Public Integrity Section.

As New York’s top law enforcer, O’Donnell will lead the fight for reform in Albany. We need to provide greater oversight of our public authorities – agencies that are taking on massive public debt without public oversight. We need meaningful election reform and real campaign finance reform that will put an end to Albany’s Pay to Play System. It is time to make government work for the citizens of New York, not the special interests.

Promoting Corporate Integrity
As a professional prosecutor, Denise O’Donnell will continue to build on the impressive record of the office in fighting corporate corruption. She will use the powers of the Attorney General to protect pension funds. She will ensure that businesses meet their fiduciary responsibilities, and that all investors-large and small - play by the same ground rules.

Protecting Consumers
The Attorney General is the consumer advocate for the people of New York. Denise O’Donnell will work As a professional prosecutor to seek new channels to warn consumers of fraudulent schemes and predatory lending practices. She will monitor gas and home heating prices, and enforce our price gouging laws. O’Donnell will continue to prosecute those who steal our identities to commit fraud, and will ensure that law enforcement has the technical expertise to investigate increasingly sophisticated computer crimes

Safeguarding Our Environment
Denise O’Donnell believes that environmental enforcement must be one of the top priorities of the Attorney General’s office. In addition to continuing the solid record of the office in this area, Denise will create a statewide environmental crimes resource center within the AG’s Office to assist our state’s 62 district attorneys with enforcing our environmental laws at the local level.

Fighting for the Rights of Working Families
Denise will continue her lifelong commitment to the rights of working families in New York. As a professional prosecutor, O'Donnell will enforce workplace safety rules and hold companies accountable that fail to pay prevailing wages.

Protecting New York Families
As both a prosecutor and a professional social worker, Denise O’Donnell will work tirelessly to reduce domestic violence and protect children from sexual exploitation. She will fight for electronic monitoring and civil commitment of persistent sexual offenders. And she will continue her long record of protecting a woman’s right to choose.

Finally, we must make reducing crime and gun violence a statewide priority. As one of the first proponents of Project Exile, a nationally recognized program to reduce gun violence, Denise will continue to fight to take guns out of the hands of criminals and to prevent gun traffickers from bringing cheap out- of state-assault weapons to New York State.
